Some Hair for Thought

Due to my abundant amount of free time, I found some felt and made a wig for Pea. This was inspired by a fellow fashion student classmate who did a photoshoot using a felt wig. It turned out awesome! This led to inspiration and some experimenting on my own. There can be improvements, but hey, first time making it so pretty proud of myself! Here are so photos:

The Teddy Playhouse is made by my brilliant sister whom I love so much -____-
and by the way, DID NOT force me to give her credit even though I just forgot. She is a brilliant arts and crafts person.

Dried Cod Fish Heaven

It's official, not that we didn't know before, but the Japanese has a talent for making addicting snacks!

Currently stuffing my mouth with the following:

I shall die eating this while watching The Holiday. =)

The Creation of Pea

Since the start of my new blog, I decided that every great blog has or needs a signature character. And being the artsy-fartsy people that we are at home (my sister and I), we just happened to have some left over clay lying around. It was this, that led to the creation of Pea.

To begin, you as the readers will be informed of who Pea really is. She (yes, she is a she, to reflect the author of this blog: which is me) is made out of a left over bit of Jovi air dry clay. Since I made her yesterday, her birthday is December 27, 2009. This is perfect because it would make the day after the two of the most special days in my opinion (Christmas and Boxing Day) of the year special. So the hype of the holidays lasts just one day longer. Her eyes are coloured black with a ballpoint pen that was just lying around, with blush coloured by lipstick.

Now as to the origins of her name. I hope this makes sense to those who are reading, because I've been told that my thoughts runs a thousand miles (or kilometres since I'm Canadian) an hour.
When I was first creating her, and she lied in my hands like a blob, my thoughts were to name her Mochi. For those of you who aren't familiar with the term, you can either look it up, or trust me that this peculiar word is the name of a Japanese rice dessert. All this changed when I started making her crown. She then became Princess. But 15 minutes into this project, I soon grew tired of having to repeat two syllables (which is wayyyy too long in my opinion) and started to call her "P." This shrank the syllables down to half but since a character name looks awkward with just one letter, I decided on the name Pea.

This little princess took a whole day to dry, and I added the black pea eyes and blush just 15 minutes ago. Now I have my signature character for my blog!

As to what we did on our first day together, don't expect anything too interesting. All we did was pig out in front of the computer and watch reruns of Grey's Anatomy. I would go on and on about how disappointing it is to have to wait until March to watch new episodes, and how the person who invented a mid-season break for t.v. shows deserves some sort of harsh punishment, but that's for another post.

For now, I shall tend to my unread emails and text messages, while staring with goo-goo eyes at my cute little Pea for distraction.

Ta-ta for now!

Opening the Lid

Here, I am going to start my new blogging life.
Blogspot looks a whole lot better (function and aesthetic wise) than xanga.
Now all I need is just to get comfy in my new home =)

To conclude my first entry here, I included a plate of truffles I made during this holiday.
My first attempt! So proud of myself!
