Untitled

I used to think I was above falling for those stupid 'happily ever after' endings.
Turns out I'm not immune.

I swear, throughout the entire ending, I kept holding my breathe because I keep expecting him to have moved on already. She left everything, including her dream job to move to New York for him. The entire time I kept thinking, how stupid can you be?! I don't know... maybe I changed my mind.

It's just too much...

Haven't been very good about updating my blog. Just too much happens all at the same time, and it just passes me by. First day of work tomorrow and all I can think about is which camera to get...

I am deciding to either get a Holga or a Diana F+.

  • buy the kit with flash, or not flash (or delux!)
  • mini or not
  • what kind of film (120 or 35mm)
  • special edition or classic black

Holga is cheaper on all levels, and was what made me look into the whole toy camera thing to begin with. It's known for quality, been on the market longer.

Diana+ on the other hand looks cuter (the Snowcat for example made me want to get one that is way overpriced cuz LIMITED EDITION! See below.) and plus for some reason I can't put my finger on, just attracts me more and looks more stylish in my opinion. However, the accessories that I think are must haves, are way  more expensive than that or the Holga.

The Diana Snowcat in all its beauty-ness.

Other things I have to consider is of course, which film I should use. 120 or 35mm. 120 film I would actually have to go to an actual film developing place, whereas 35mm I can just be a cheapass and go to Costco and make my mom print them.. However, that is why I'm planning on getting a 120, since there are 35mm film adapters, where as, u cant really go the other way around.

I am so confused! Cameras trumps purses and shoes at the moment. School has made me become repelled by fashion. Save me.

New Machine... Sorta...?

Just yesterday night, the night before my politics exam, my Macbook's hard-drive died on me. At first I was devastated to see the "white screen of death" up-close and in person, until something brilliant happened. In the middle of the night, I had to use my long forgotten PC and make an appointment for see a Mac Genius at the GeniusBar. When I got there the next day, I was surrounded by hordes of people lining up to get iPads after iPads, then iMacs after iMacs. Was I jealous? Hell yea! (Not for the iPads though, but that they have money to not buy one, but in a lot of cases, two iPads!)

It was a long wait before I got to the counter. That was when they told my my iCare was just over! I was ready to faint until the nice man behind the counter told me that he would make an exception for me, How nice! I was prepared to leave my precious Macbook behind for a day or two, until more good news! The Genius told me that he would just grab a hard-drive from the back and change it right away. So he went behind the store, and I was just about to remind him that he left my Macbook on the counter, until I realized he was going to change it right then and there infront of me! So after two screws (as in those metal things u assemble things with, get ur minds out of the gutter! I wasn't that grateful!) my Macbook was ready to go! Notice how I used so many exclamation marks at the end of my sentences? I was really excited.

As me and my hubby headed home, I was joking to him how, oh, my hard-drive was so old, they probably didn't have the OS I had installed on there. All jokes and games until... I turned on my hard-drive. I saw the dock and I soon realized that I actually got an upgrade to my operating system for free! I guess my hard-drive really was old. Mind you, it was only Leopard, and not Snow Leopard, but you have to keep in mind that my OS was the Tiger OS and I was already one and a half (half being what i considered Snow Leopard to be) behind. Plus, Lion is about to come out soon, so I was really out of the loop. Nonetheless I was happy. What a brilliant and bright day.

On the side note, what I really wanted to share today was this new user I found on deviant art, with the most brilliant wallpapers. I have to say, I'm really picky about what wallpaper I use, but these wallpapers however took my breath away. Simple and Clean, yet nicely designed just like how they're supposed to be. I'm also going to try out their icons. I have my eye on the wooden crate looking ones. Go check them out: Pixartica. Awesome.

They're like, Peas in a Pod.

This is going to be a short entry, but Toy Story 3 came out with a new toy, and it is by far the cutest toy ever!

They're three peas in a pod, and they come in a pencil case-like felt container. The coolest part however, would be they actually fully come out! When I first realized Disney was selling them, all  the stores that was within driving distance was sold out. I was bummed out until my friend bought two for us (me and my boyfriend!) Haha, just too cool to not share about it. Anyways, going to go juggle them now!

The Angels Have Landed

The Angels have landed at Eaton Centre today for the opening of the new Victoria's Secret, and it was a BIG DEAL! Why? Well not that I experienced it for myself, but apparently they actually had helicopters land on the roof of Eaton Centre. Too bad I missed it. But it was such a big deal, that this happened:

There were actually a crowd watching the crowd LOL But since the tote bag is supposed to be limited edition I had to get it haha too bad I'm not really into the plastic material though. Here are pictures of it, the bow is actually pretty cute though...

In the tote bag, it actually came with free samples of things, a lipgloss, a thong (again, just like in the tote bag that we got when lining up to go into the store), body spray (which iw as about to buy) and this body lotion that I didn't really even like the scent of...

More beauty stuff I got. I rather not go into the lingerie stuff I got, but these are the items I got that are not underwear stuff:

Also, apparently if you qualified to get the tote bag, you also qualified to take a picture with one of the two "angels" that landed. Too bad you have to wait in line again. I was in my heels today that were killing me and giving me blisters, as well, I didn't have the patience to wait until 5 o'clock so I gave up on that. Oh well, too bad. Maybe I can be an angel one day... haha, yea right.

Update on website

As it turns out, the pages of my agenda were sticking together and the storyboard deadline is actually one more week away! You have no idea how relieved I am, there was no way any of that would have been finished in time. Anyways, so I have the main character/ mascot for my site basically complete, although i always can make some more refinements...

Here is a sneak peak :)

This is actually cut out from one of my pages that I have so far. Where, I would not say now, but when it is finished you shall all see :) I have the basic template setup already, but there are still some minor details here and there to be fixed and figured out. My main final intention however, is after that is done with, to incorporate that site with this blog... somehow... We'll see how that goes.

It's been an extremely extremely long week. Two midterms and superlong classes. I'm glad this week is over. And in case anyone is wondering, yes, my week ends on Thursday nights haha. And please don't go hatin' because I do work my ass off on Fridays at home too, just no commute time need. Thank goodness for that.

On a side note however, I have a question. Does iMovie not have a recording function, or does it just for some reason not detect my webcam? When I have more braincells/brainpower I will try to figure that out. When I do, it's gonna be a treat for sure!

Bean Website

Once again I am in the place of designing/ laying out the storyboard for the new site. It has proved to be a pain in the butt. I think my problem is just over thinking.

I hate design: when thinking too much is a crime!

And having said that, I have a literary research methods exam in a few hours.
Now I have to put my thinking cap back on... see you all on the other side!

New On My Wish List

wow, these are the hottest things ever, so much so that this post is just going up like this with no proper capitalization or punctuation or anything, and i wouldnt be surprised if it has a couple of grammatical errors

I Don't Get it!

Say Cheee....What?

As you can all see from the title of my blog... I am downright puzzled. About what?

Well to start from the beginning, I was browsing Facebook like any other day, and I stumbled onto Jon from TechWaffle's status update about not liking Symbian. So I thought, "Oh, that's interesting, let me google it!" I have had a Nokia in the past, and I was just curious as to what it is. At first I thought it was pretty interesting, and their homepage was nicely designed, I love the whole combining real life photography/videos with illustration thing. However,  when I started to watch Nokia's promotional videos as well as some reviews on the N8, I got somewhat confused, and I just hd to share my confusion or maybe someone can tell me if I'm missing a major point here.

First of all, one of the first things I saw being reviewed was the ability to change the wallpaper to any photos you like or have on your phone. Self explanatory, but HUH?! How on earth is that an innovation, so much that they even have to review it? Is it not, by this day an age expected  that you can change your wallpaper? Second of all, when they talked about the customizable homescreen, they were saying it like WOW CUSTOMIZABLE HOMESCREEN NOW AVAILABLE! Have people stuck their head in a hole and not come out in a while, because this is not really considered an innovation, at least I would not think so. As well, the whole wow-factor of widgets, and how the reviewer just said that users are no longer able to just add widgets, they can now rearrange it!!!

Although, to give it a benefit of a doubt, I did stop watching the YouTube review after around three minutes, but if there is anyone out there that actually watched the whole thing, maybe you can prove me wrong by telling me there was something actually interesting to watch.

The only thing I thought was interesting, was the ability for transparency amongst their "layers" and how different applications can appear on the screen at the same time, even through conference calls. But then again, why would you (not on a testing its limits sense) use video conferencing, watch a soccer game, and want your music playlist visible at the same time?

Seriously...

Oh, and on a sidenote, if anyone wants to actually watch the review I was referencing to:

A Quote from Carly Cristman

I was just watching my subscriptions from youtube, when I stumbled upon Carly Cristman's blazer style video. She had an amazing quote I'd like to share from her:

"Fashion may not be able to change your life, but it can change your outlook on life."

Amazing. That's it for now... or as Carly says: C'est fini! :)

Twouble with Twitters: SuperNews!

This is awesome. I should start watching the other episodes too. :)

First week of class

The first week of class is totally kicking my butt.. already!  Not because of the workload, not yet, but I still have no idea what I'm going to be doing about my capstone project yet! This is really bothering me, and causing me to worry, because usually I'm full of ideas as to what to do for my next project. Maybe this summer really wore me out, or I was slacking off a tad too much. Either way, I better come up with something soon. How do I find a project I can take on, and more importanly, tolerate for a full two semesters when my passion for fashion (yes, sounds corny) is wearing thin? Right now, I'm thinking fashion meets tech... somehow... Either I'm going to wait out on the starting of this semester's new media project, or start on my blogging comic. What's keeping me from starting is the possiblity of incorporating the comics into the new media class. That way, I can do something I'm passionate about for class. I'm still sitting on the fence about it.

On a lighter note, only weeks (but I like to think of it as days) until I get my new phone! Yeh yeh! I can't wait! Being the nerd that I am, I already have a list of apps I want to try out and download on the new phone, as thank goodness I will no longer be stuck with my crapberry! First time on an android phone, and I am uberly excited! I feel like I should type this entire last part in caps and end the sentences in multiple exclaimation marks. Ha Ha. Anyways, I'm just hoping the Evo 4G does not come out in GSM right after I get my desire, or I will be majorly pissed off.

That's it for now. More ranting and ravin' laterrrrrz! :)
(I feel like I should say something cool like 'Peace out' or 'C'est fini' like those youtube vloggers, but I have a feeling people will roll their eyes at it so I'll leave this until I find a creative way to say bye.)

Finding Reality Television

It's one of those times where I find that I feel like I've been there and done that for everything I possibly want to do in this city. How is it that it's always so interesting on television?  So I was just browsing though MTV online, just to see if The Hills miraculously came back on air, or if there is a new episode of The City up. Apparently not, and I definitely cannot stomach Jersey Shore despite of its popularity. ( I mean, common, even the trailers and previews made me feel sick!) That's when I stumbled upon this show called Downtown Girls. Before this, I have never even heard of this show, and it's definitely surprising since I am a online-television-show-watching-nonstop-until-no-episodes-left-junkie. From what I get so far from this show, it's a show revolving around this blogger that works for Glamour Magazine. I have got to say, aside from my usual subscription of Flare Magazine, and the temptation of Cosmopolitan, Glamour is definitely one of the next magazines on the list. Having said this, I decided to give this show a try.

This series is definitely going to be one of my favorites! The first episode was funnier than I expected and I almost choked up on my coffee from their nonchalant girl chatter and "life"'s (I'm not that delusional to think that it really is reality!) curve-balls that are thrown at them. The invention of "ex-swapping" was purely amusing, and Victoria's version of the "Hump Day" special made my jaw drop, then rolling around on the floor with laughter (ROFL much?) I can't wait until I get my hands on the next episode.

For now however, I'm going to try out that new shower bomb I got from Lush... EXCIITTTEDD!

Entry Since Forever

Wow, it really has been a while since I've come on here to update. It's been a busy summer, and it's flying by so fast! For those of you who didn't know already, I've been interning at U2R1 Media. It's been an awesome experience so far. Lots of pink: by far the koolest office I've seen to date, with the koolest people working here by far.

So what have I been up to lately? Sadly to say, besides the internship, not much. Although, I have started to use twitter again, and facebook a bit more often than I dare admit. It has been made a lot easier and more convenient to post since I've installed TweetDeck, so posts are coming along more often than before.

Speaking of technology. Everything of mine seems to be falling apart lately! My laptop now has a weird watermark on the screen, and I'm thinking because of this, a gradient has been created on my screen. It hurts my eyes looking at it. Other than that, my Blackberry has decided it is a great idea to fall apart on me at the same time! It now randomly shuts down, as well as not charge properly. I'm guessing it's the battery, plus my charger getting old. Therefore, not charging or retaining charge properly. Good times. So how I'm fixing these two problems is:
  1. Buying a new iMac to replace, or so at least part of the time I can work on it instead of my 15" Macbook (which is now approximately 3 years old almost!) But since another iMac is due to come out soon, I'm debating whether to get another one now, or wait.
  2. As for the phone problems, I'm planning on caving in, and getting an iPhone. However, I do like Androids from the few times I've touched them. And I say touched, because I didn't really spend a lot of time with it, so I'm still debating. However, I do like the the UI of the one Android phone I did play with: HTC Desire.

I don't know, for those people that do read this, tell me what you think! I'm tied, and basically I just want anything with a battery that comes out!
Well that's it for this ranting post, tata for now!

Disclaimer: I've now been notified that my Macbook is not even 15 inch, but 13.3 inches. FML

--------------------

One continuous nightmare. One unending day.

How I Spent My Night so Far

So, came back from the worst thing ever.
Made myself coffee, when we all know I don't drink coffee anymore.
The same thing happened when I said I wouldn't drink anymore. That's when the Sangria from the fridge started to call out to me. It sounded sad. I thought I'd keep it company.
Then came back to finish watching Buffy. Watched 6 episodes so far tonight.
Then decided it was a bit too much so continued to watch Rules of Engagement.
So now I'm sitting here, not sleeping. Because of what? Because I'm as stubborn as hell.

I'm upset for reasons I rather not say just so I sound less like a spoiled brat, a bitch, or something worse anyone can think of after reading this post if I did decide to write all the details of my night/day down.

Gone are the days when I throw things around. I'm just tired. Just really really tired. That's what they mean when they say someone wants to drown themselves in something. I just haven't decided what that something is yet. These are the days when even seeing people on facebook who've let themselves go, can't make you feel better, but inspires you to be like them. Half of life is spent waiting and wondering. Nothing to do, or to be done but that. Makes me want to kick someone's ass. Anyways, you know those days when you think to yourself: If I knew this was what this day's going to turn out like, I wouldn't wake up and just sleep it away? Well I'm starting to not remember a day that isn't like that anymore. It's like how little kids start out by drawing with a pencil on a white piece of paper. Mostly everything is white except for those few marks that ruin the white. Well as time goes on, we decide to make our life more interesting. That is when we draw white figures on a black piece of paper. You no longer have little bad things happen to you, but you can step back and say at least most of the paper's still white. You end up with little tidbits of happiness that happens to you, but unless you have them, it's just all black. I'm rambling. It made more sense in my head.

Anyways.

I feel.. ARRRGHHHHHH!
That's how I feel.

Now leave me alone.

Ending to "The Mysteries of Love."

After watching the ending of The Mysteries of Love, my conclusion is that it has the stupidest ending known to mankind. Why that you say? It angers me, the fact that all those people thought it would be a good idea to pressure the girl into accepting the guy again. If they were to actually know the entire story, and not just hear the "heroic" speech that Kinsley gave, they would know to leave them alone. Would they not think that she can do better? Just because she grew up in a "bad" neighborhood, the guy from the "good" background has to be a catch? What bull. Just one speech and all those bad feelings can be erased? How he just abandoned her regardless of her begging, because of one speech becomes forgotten sums up everything to be said for tvb shows.  Has anyone ever even stopped to think that maybe he isn't such a catch? If I were the girl, there would be so much I would've said when they met at Australia. It is not when you feel like it, that you can make things happen. Effort after you've known the consequences and did it anyways, does not mean shit. 'If onlys" do not mean anything because if it does, it would not start with those two words. Some say I read too much into t.v. shows, but what I said so far I really had to say because it does hit home. Looking at it reminds me why life does go on, and the beauty of it.

Life as an Intern

I apologize for not updating like I promised, but life is not as "lax" as it used to be unfortunately. I was being ambitious and actually sent my portfolio into a design company, trying my luck at getting myself an internship. Literally days before my trip to Hong Kong, I received an email requesting a meetup/ interview. And that is why I am tired today.

Officially the first day at the internship, unofficially the second day, and I am exhausted! Never did I think that I would be this tired. Haha, yeah right, I so expected it. This is what I get for emailing to request to go to work days earlier. It is pretty awesome though, never having been to an official 9-5 job, so this is sort of new. I even have my own email address! Yeah, the petty things in life gets me excited. However, the not so interesting part of this whole internship thing is the lack of pay. Imagine all the things I can buy with the money. Anyways, here is what I did so far, enjoy for now:

For Now

Just incase anyone is reading this and wondering why I haven't updated in so long, it's because I had my little trip to Hong Kong. Still jetlagged, so please be patient and I shall update something proper soon. For now, adios! Good night y'all!

The Backup Plan

So I was watching the Backup Plan just now, and I have got to say, the opening credits were incredible! It is totally cute. Usually I'm one of those people that just skips over it, or falls asleep during that part, fiddle with their popcorn, but this honestly is awesome!

Did I mention I am a huge fan of Jennifer Lopez? I am going to buy this movie when it comes out on DVD for sure!

Tying out Widgets

I know I should be studying, but I just have to try out this new widget. I just got the tumblr one yesterday, but that was a stupid endeavor since my main blog is on blogger! Although, I do have to say I am tempted by the convenience that it is connected to both my facebook and twitter account, and teh themes are a tad more appealing. However, Ad Sense sorta weighs out those features, so I am hereby still sticking to Blogger until that factor changes somehow, but I don't think that will be the case anytime soon. Anyways, back to my studying (it is a complete pain in the butt). Tata for now!

Adventures with the Durian Fruit

It always amused me, the variety of products Asian supermarkets always have to offer. That particular day however, what caught my eye was a Durian. Sometimes, I wonder if Durian is just an Asian think, but after too many hours of watching Hong Kong television drama, I decided that I'll just categorize it as such in my head. I somehow convinced my dad to pick one out. He then taught me how to pick a Durian.

First of all, look at the shape of the fruit. If it is completely round, choose another one, as the "lumpy" ones, or as he says Chinese people called it, "monkey head" shaped ones had more meat. And obviously, decide how much you would like to consume. It is advised to choose a smaller one for first time tasters, as the taste of the fruit does not appeal to everyone.

Next, look at the spikes of the fruit. The longer they are, the more moist the Durian is going to be, and vice versa.

Finally,  (I cannot believe I asked this question last) is: "How do you know when the fruit is ripe?" The answer is to look at its colouring. Durians are know to turn yellow when they are ripe.

The one we bought that day was a frozen one, to prevent the fruit from being over-ripe and spoiled during its transportation. Many would either be drawn to this very section of the supermarket having smelled the Durian, or be repelled.

The opening process:
I was told that once the Durian is ripe, there is soft spot at the center bottom of the fruit. You are then able, from this point, the puncture a hole to its tough exterior and it will just pop open. However, when we bought the fruit, it was frozen, and it did no such thing. This caused me quite a bit of anxiety, as I was desperately anticipating the consumption of the fruit.

However, later on that night, we did manage to thaw it, and open that sucker up. It was a tasty mean indeed.

This is my dad opening the fruit up while I waited patiently.

This is how it looks like opened.

Bunny Stuck in the Hole.

Today, I thought Bean would be stuck forever. For some really odd reason, it crawled into a 1.5 inch crack, around the corner and behind a huge unmovable cupboard at our house. Turns out, it was easier to get into a mess than out of it. So after  finding its new hiding place quite dusty, Bean found out that he couldn't go back around the bend to come out. After hearing the scratching, and me scratching my head as to the location of Bean, I found him stuck behind the cupboard. We tried pulling him out, but there was no way he could be pulled through the corner without seriously hurting him. So we had to take apart the insides of the cupboard drawers, and try to pull him through. He was stuck between the wires and cables. After crying (on my part) and struggling (again on my part) Bean was finally rescued. I thought he would be broken for sure. But once we rescued him, he just laid there, and I swear, was wagging his tail. My first instinct was to shove him back there behind the cupboard. He is one lazy, trouble-maker.

That was enough exercise for today.

Long Awaited Photos

I apologize for the time it took to upload these pictures from the meal. The holidays, despite how it hasn't officially started since I still have the History of Costume Exam to worry about, has driven me bonkers. I no longer can distinguish the day of the week, and sometimes not even the time of day. So here are the photos from the dinner:

Here is the dinner, starting at the top and going clockwise: Honey Garlic Chicken Wings, Mashed Potatoes made with Garlic Butter, Cream of Mushroom Cauliflower with Cheese, and Ribs. Oh, and the bottle is Alize's Passion Mango.

Here is how it looks like with the new phone app that baby got. Um, he can comment as to what the phone app is called and the lens used. LOL. Sorry for that.

Here I am presenting the bottle in all its glory. As well, the phone app is used with a different lens. I prefer this one, mostly because of the cooler overtone. I don't know, what do you think?

Same app used, different pose. Ready to get the drinkin' on!

The lens used is the same as the orange tinted photo on top. Looks like someone couldn't wait to get a drink and hogged the whole bottle.

Unfortunately for me, I have the genes that contributes to the "Asian Glow." This is how I looked like near the end of the meal.

OMG!

Okay, so this news actually deserves an oh em gee!
Turns out some drunk guy from Apple "misplaced" the next generation of iPhone while at a bar drinking!
Get informed here

Surprisingly, I actually like the new design! I hope Apple sticks with it!
